Our Story

Our building dates back to the early 1900s, when it served as St. Joseph’s Catholic School’s Auditorium until the school closed in 1969. The interior space has been renovated since then, but many original features like the stage and hardwood floors have been preserved.

Hamilton Studio is a Spokane gem, listed on the Spokane Register of Historic Places.

When Don Hamilton bought the building in the 1980s, he converted the place into a full- functioning professional photo and film studio, installing a 30x30 cyclorama and coating the entire inside with sound installation spray (K13). Hamilton later realized, due to the configuration of hard and soft surfaces, he created a room with near-perfect acoustics. On New Year's Day of 2024, Hamilton Studio officially opened as a concert house.

The Listening Room is a place where artists can truly connect with their audience, and hear every note being played, the audience is intently listening to the music because the venue is a unique and intimate experience dedicated to the acoustics while being visually striking.

We're also an event space.
